Studies Have Shown That Managing An Author Website Takes Years Off Of Your Life

I self-published my first two books, dark murder mysteries, on Amazon and had no idea how to market them. Then I wrote PLEASURIA: TAKE AS DIRECTED, a comedy murder mystery staged in the pharmaceutical industry, and I was lucky enough to find a publisher. I am currently working with a marketing expert who is teaching me how to market books, and one of the things that is required is a good author website.

If I had to do the website myself, I would look like the two folks pictured above, stressed and flabbergasted. Fortunately, Shari Stauch (WhereWritersWin), a wonderful marketing expert, helped me to set up a great website, and she is teaching me how to use and maintain it. There is a home page and pages for meeting the author (that would be me), early praise/reviews for my new book PLEASURIA, book club questions, my earlier books, and there’s even a blog page and a page where the reader can contact me. There’s lots of pictures, which makes it even more fun to read.

One of the neatest things about the website, especially for anyone interested in the new book PLEASURIA, is that you can go to the homepage in the upper left where it says “Sign Up Here”, type your email address, click the “Sign Up” button, and you will be provided with the first two chapters of the book for free. You should definitely get a laugh or two from those chapters, and if you want to read more you can buy the book.

The worst that will happen is you get some laughs for free, and in these crazy times some laughter could lighten your mood and perhaps even add a year or two to your life. THIS HEALTH CLAIM HAS NOT BEEN EVALUATED BY THE FDA:)

So take a look and let me know what you think. There’s also a contact page where you can email me to let me know your thoughts, or just to say Hi. I’ve known, and in many cases worked with you over the years, and I’d love to hear from you.
