THE IMPORTANCE OF AMAZON REVIEWS TO BOOK SALES

Book sales are a tough nut to crack, and I need your help to sell as many copies of PLEASURIA: Take As Directed (Koehler Books publisher) as possible, by providing a review on Amazon. 

The reason that I want to sell lots of copies of PLEASURIA, is because I am donating all of my after-tax profits from the book sales to two charities for abused children, Holly’s House https://www.hollyshouse.org and Darkness to Light https://www.d2l.org. My younger sister suffered child abuse and passed away when she was only forty-five years old. I am doing this to honor her life.

Amazon reviews help to drive book sales, so if everyone who reads the book would provide a review, that would be great. Amazon is one of the largest book sellers in the world, with almost half of all print book sales and approaching 90% of all e-book sales. The more reviews on Amazon for a given book, the more exposure the book will receive as it moves up in the rankings, and the more books the author will sell. Amazon also owns Goodreads, which has millions of members, both readers and authors, and reviews on Goodreads are also helpful. 

Additionally, it is important to market the book on social media, including an informative and attractive website https://johnjjessop.com, Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In, Pinterest, Instagram and others. An effective marketing program including these social media channels can also increase book sales. I am doing all of the above, but I need your help with the Amazon reviews.

I am confident that PLEASURIA is a fun read, as I had two publishers come back to me and tell me that they enjoyed the book, I had a wicked good sense-of-humor, and one of them, Koehler Books, published it. Early reviews have been great (see https://johnjjessop.com/pleasuriaearly-praise) and agree that the book is a fun read with laugh-out-loud adult comedy.

So, I feel good about asking each of you to read the book and provide a review on Amazon. This is a win-win-win.

Based on early reviews, if you read the book you should get some laughs, which is a good thing, especially in these ‘gloom-and-doom” times. To quote E.E. Cummings, “The most wasted day of all is one without laughter.”

If you buy the book, money will be donated to these two wonderful charities.

And finally, the more reviews, the more books will sell, and the more money will go to the charities.

    I posted a review on Amazon. I did enjoy reading “Pleasuria” . I applaud your charitable efforts.

    1. John, Thank you for reading Pleasuria, and for leaving an Amazon review. I really appreciate it. I had a lot of fun writing the book, and was really surprised when I found a publisher. I’m currently working on the sequel.
      I hope that you are well, happy and healthy. I enjoyed working with you at BCG and I remember the trips we took together.
